Apple has finally done it. Apple has released its new Tablet PC device, IE. Mac the public expects actually clamoring--to Apple to release such a device--and soon! For Apple not to do it would have been a larger konstruktionsmaskiner (to its customers and its shareholders). Momentum was simply impossible to resist.
The iPhone is essentially a thumbnail tablet computer. Apple has shown that it can "do" such an entity as no one else. So, despite previous assurances, Steve Jobs release a new tablet was a no-brainer. All Apple had to make up its brilliant scale is the interface to a larger unit.
I say "All Apple had to make?" The technical challenges in producing new device, called the iPad, was enormous. Apple had mainly design a whole new operating system, not completely Mac and not quite iPhone, rewrite its applications from scratch and fundamental rethink the whole way a computer works.
Apple was not the first to release a new Tablet PC, as it was not the first to release a MP3 player or a mobile phone, but it may well be the company that manages to make the tablet computer really "catch a fire" with the public.
Apple has a huge head start with 140,000 + apps for the iPhone, and it wisely designed iPad to take advantage of them. IPad may run the iPhone apps on their original size or in the ' pixel doubled mode "double size as on the iPhone so that they fill the screen almost iPad. Developers can easily rewrite their iPhone apps specifically for the iPad in such a way as to take advantage of its new features.
How does the iPad Internet marketers? Of course, "I" in its name stands for the Internet (and it is also a clever play on the name of "iPod"). Surfing the Web will be a joy and a larger screen will give users a lot more room to work with Apple's developers boast that it has like "holding the entire Internet in your hand" or similar reading a physical book or magazine.
The creation of new apps for developers could rival the iPad by gold rush, which jumped around the iPhone. Apple offers SDK 3.2 beta for developers the tools they need to begin to create applications for the iPad and an iPad simulator, allow them to build and run applications on the Mac, lay out the user interface, test and debug memory usage.
Web designers and Graphic artists will enjoy included the use of the brushes iPad larger monitor, although some can feel that it is something like fingerpainting--a pen that works with iPad will not be supported, at least not initially.
Apple is completely rewritten its productivity software iWork for iPad. Keynote provides custom graph styles, custom themes, animations, and effects, and brand-new features designed specifically for the iPad. The pages include Apple-designed templates and formatting tools. Numbers offers over 250 flexible formulas, tables, and advanced charts.
Want to catch up on your reading the placing on the market? Apple has worked hard to read e-books, magazines and newspapers, pleasant on the iPad. Apple's e-book reading software has an interface that looks like a bookcase. Flip the Bookshelf with your finger, and you'll be taken to the online store, where you can buy new books.
IPad's built-in Safari browser behaves like the one on your Mac. And, like the version on your iPhone you can scroll through the pages by zap your finger across them, or pinch or double tap to zoom in on a photograph.
The mail application offers a landscape view with split screen shows both the current e-mail and the unread messages in your Inbox. To display the current e-mail message by itself? Just turn the iPad to portrait mode and message zooms so that it fills the screen. IPad will work with popular email providers, such as mobile me, Yahoo Mail, Gmail, Hotmail and AOL. In order to write a message, you simply press and begin typing.
This brings us to the range of the keyboard. Many scientists have wondered how text entry would work on Apple's new tablet device. You can use an external keyboard to write long documents, if you want. However, I think Apple made the right decision not trying to build a physical keyboard in tablet. The goal of the iPad is to bring your data and web surfing up close for an intimate feel. A keyboard would simply get between you and the screen.
The on screen keyboard is much larger, of course, than what is possible on the iPhone. In landscape mode is that the keyboard almost as large as on a standard laptop computer. With just a few tweaks to the word presume, recognition and auto-correction features of the iPhone software, to write on this virtual keyboard could be almost as fast as using a real problem. Plus, I believe that voice dictation apps could come quickly to the iPad, just as they have for the iPhone.
And, of course, the iPad contains all the same features as the iPhone, only in a larger form-Web, video, YouTube, iPod and iTunes, interactive satellite map, Notepad, a calendar, the completely redesigned from the ground up for the iPad, contacts, and Spotlight search.
IPad is shipped in three different internal storage configurations and with the setting of the WiFi or WiFi + 3 G, a total of six different models. The model base 16 GB WiFi will only start at a reasonable $ 499, while the top of the line 64 GB WiFi + 3 G model will tip the scales at a still affordable $ 829. Apple has said that, while most of the new technologies are introduced at a higher price and slowly work their way down Apple would do things differently.
When will the iPad be available? Apple expects WiFi models to ship at the end of March and 3 g models to ship in april.
The PC's thickness, just 0.5 inches, the light weight, only 1.5 pound, and flexibility of this new device is sure to make the iPad popular with Internet marketers, and anyone on the go. With its high resolution LED backlight, it is the larger screen, it is responsive multi-touch screen and its strong Apple-developed processor, the new iPad will be thin and light enough to take anywhere. And I suspect that many people will choose to do exactly that.
